The Shengsi Islands are geographically part of Zhoushan Archipelago and located in the mouth of the Yangtze River in China. The Archipelago is hiding an abandoned fishing village being reclaimed by nature.
The abandoned village is located on Gouqi Island. It is one of many examples of small villages in China that have become ghost towns due to inaccessibility, urbanization, depletion of resources, shifts in industry, among other factors. The fishermen have all moved to mainland, and nature slowly swallowed what they left behind.
A creative photographer, Yuhong Tang, has captured one of the most pleasant attempts of the nature overtaking the abandoned village! This is amazing!
