The Tatra Mountains are a mountain range that form a natural border between Slovakia and Poland. They are the highest mountain range in the Carpathian Mountains. In winter the high Tatra Mountains offers some amazing landscapes!
The lake called Velke Hincovo Pleso is the biggest and deepest mountain lake of glacial origin in the High Tatras. The maximum depth is 53 meters (174 ft). Its surface remains frozen for around 270 days per year.
In this video we can see the amazing lake that is frozen. It’s ice is so crystal clear and smooth that if you walk on it it looks like you walk on water. Tomas Nunuk was trekking through Slovakia’s Tatras mountain range with some friends when they came upon the lake. They walked on the ice and filmed the spectacular moments! Enjoy watching!
