Angelo Mastropietro made his dream come true by turning 250-million-year-old cave in the Wyre Forest, Worcestershire, England into a luxurious home with underfloor heating, running water and internet access. The cave had been used as a four-bedroom house for 300 years. It was abandoned in the 1940s.
In 2007 Angelo was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. He was temporarily paralysed by his condition and thought: ‘I wanted to be in a place where I had a happier and healthier life’.
That was the moment when the businessman decided to make some lifestyle changes and come up with the idea to create a magical home. After £160,000 and approximately 1,000 hours of breaking, cutting and burrowing through tonnes of rock, Angelo can enjoy his luxurious home that is equipped with the latest technology. He did the majority of the physical work himself.
Angelo uses the home as a vacation home for the moment, but he wishes to make it his full time residence one day.
